Last month we made a short visit to Northern France where we were able to visit some of the CWGC cemeteries where 'our First World War boys' are buried and some of the memorials where they are named. It was a powerful experience which we have tried to record in words and pictures. You can see these by clicking on the links below.
1. A visit to the Thiepval Memorial where Joseph Dodd of Northop Hall is remembered.

2. Visit to Delville Wood Cemetery and the National South African Memorial to pay homage to Northop soldier Joseph Leigh Howell.

3. Cabaret Rouge British Cemetery where Henry Noel Atkinson was finally buried after being missing for 9 years.

4. Pozieres Memorial and Cemetery where Northop lad Joseph Thelwell is commemorated.

5. An atmospheric visit to Gezaincourt Communal Military Cemetery Extension, the final resting place of Franklin W Pinnington of Sychdyn.

6. The Australian National Memorial at Villers- Bretonneux where Herbert Tayor Rock (whose parents lived in Sychdyn) is remembered.

We will hopefully make another trip before too long on the trail of 'our boys'.  Now, some new information about the following soldiers...

7. Daniel James of Sychdyn. Family photographs and some mystery ones.

8. Thomas Glynne Davies WW2 soldier from Sychdyn. His page has now been started.

9. Two cemetery photographs and another letter from Willie Hodgkinson

10 We've changed the dedication page. It now contains an extract of a poem and a photograph of the Welsh memorial at Mametz Wood.
