We are exceedingly sorry to hear of Lance Corporal Walter Davey having fallen in action in France. He is the first from Soughton to make the great sacrifice for his country. We always held him in high esteem and we feel sure that he did his duty well. We sympathise with his father and family in their deep and sudden sorrow.
