WAR MEMORIALS IN THE PARISH OF NORTHOP
The villages of Northop, Northop Hall and Sychdyn (Soughton)
World War 2 Service Personnel who returned home.
This project began as a study of one War Memorial. As we gathered more information and contacts we widened the brief that we had set for ourselves. We decided to study all the memorials in Northop Parish, we found relevant information about the Home Front, recruitment, the schools and much more, so the website grew and grew. Six months on, and we find ourselves about to branch out again. This has come about largely through our contact with the Northop District British Legion. Here we have found men who survived World War 2 and so obviously do not appear on the Memorials but they are people with important stories to tell. We shall tell them here as and when they are given to us.
Please contact us via the Guest Book if you would like to have your war time experience recorded on this website. If you are a relative of a WW2 veteran and would like to have his/her story told, then please contact us. We must confine ourselves to those people who live or lived in Northop Parish (Northop, Northop Hall or Sychdyn). We look forward to hearing from you.
